  • The Chicago Bulls are a team that is interested in taking on Tyler Herro in a Damian Lillard traded
  • The Bulls could end up rebuilding
  • The Portland Trail Blazers likely don’t want Herro due to them already having many guards

The Miami Heat are a team that has been hunting for a star to add to their current roster, as they desperately need another elite offensive presence aside from Jimmy Butler. The Heat have consistently been linked with superstar Damian Lillard this summer, and it is likely that they will have to explore multi-team scenarios to get the point guard due to their relative lack of desirable assets in a trade.

In any Damian Lillard trade, the Miami Heat would likely have to move Tyler Herro, as he is their most valuable player aside from Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. With that being said, the Portland Trail Blazers already have a number of elite guard prospects like Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe. Herro would likely be moved to another team in any scenario where Lillard goes to the Heat. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, there are four teams willing to take on Herro in that case, including the Chicago Bulls.

“Keep an eye on Utah playing a potential role in a three- or four-team outcome of these Lillard conversations. If Portland ultimately does business with Miami, the Jazz — as well as the Bulls, Hornets, and Nets — are considered a team interested in landing Tyler Herro from the Heat, sources said.”

There is no doubt that Tyler Herro could be a valuable asset for any team that is in a rebuilding stage or seeking to rebuild. He is only 23 years old right now and is already an efficient scorer who has shown the ability to play with other stars. It makes sense that Tyler Herro would command interest from the Bulls, as they are a veteran team that could seek to rebuild due to their lack of competitiveness last season. The Bulls notably lost to the Heat in the play-in tournament.

This past season, Tyler Herro averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, while shooting 37.8% from 3PT range. It would be interesting to see him as more of a focal point on a different team, and we’ll see where he ends up in the future.

Tyler Herro Seemingly Threw Shade At The Miami Heat Over The Consistent Trade Rumors

There is no doubt that Tyler Herro’s name has consistently been thrown around in trade rumors this summer. Recently, we saw Herro throw shade at the Heat after the most recent trade rumors involving him and Lillard. It is clear that Herro does not appreciate the consistent speculation involving him.

At the end of the day though, the NBA is a business. It is up to every team’s front office to consistently try and improve their chances of winning a championship, and that is precisely what the Miami Heat are trying to do by trading for Damian Lillard.

The Miami Heat Could Use Tyler Herro As A Primary Ballhandler If They Don’t Trade For Damian Lillard

Though the Miami Heat have been trying to move Tyler Herro in a Damian Lillard trade, it is quite possible that the deal will end up falling through. The Heat obviously have a plan for Herro if he doesn’t get traded. We previously saw some indications that the Miami Heat could use Tyler Herro as a primary ballhandler if the Damian Lillard trade fails.

Tyler Herro being used in a new role could help him blossom and develop as a player. Though his future is unclear right now, what is clear is that he is a talented player who could use a bigger role.
