• The 2013 NBA Draft was regarded as one of the weakest in league history

• Most NBA fans were in agreement

• Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 pick flamed out in the NBA just a few years later

The 2013 NBA Draft has been regarded as the weakest of the 2010s and the fans had their thoughts after a recent picture of the Top 5 picks resurfaced on Twitter earlier this week.

To quickly recap, Anthony Bennett was the No. 1 pick that season and the Canadian forward was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Victor Oladipo was the No. 2 and was chosen by the Orlando Magic.

Otto Porter Jr. and Cody Zeller were at No. 3 and No. 4 going to the Washington Wizards and the Charlotte Bobcats, respectively, while Alex Len at No. 5 went to the Phoenix Suns.

On their part, fans shared their two cents about the top 5 picks. One of the fans wholly agreed.

To redraft
Giannis
McCollum
KCP
Steven Adams.
Otto but the draft as a whole was ass https://t.co/UqrhVSUjHk

There was support coming in for Victor Oladipo.

Some fans slammed the evaluation.

The problem with posts like this is that those guys would have been top 5-10 no matter who was picking in those slots. Then there's the NBA Draft "experts" who also projected them as top picks.

Yeah, they're bad picks; but the scouting/evaluation process was worse https://t.co/UFiKiutqif

The nods poured in.

Definitely up there, probably top 3 https://t.co/R4KiKjSlBx

One fan bought in 2006 and 2009 in the picture.

That said, the draft also had two massive names who went on to become bonafide superstars even if the draft class was weak. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Rudy Gobert weren’t in the top five, but they rose meteorically over the course of their NBA careers.

What Happened To The Top Five Picks Of The 2013 NBA Draft?

To start with, Bennett last played a game in the NBA in 2017 with the Brooklyn Nets. He was waived the same year but bounced around the league with stints Minnesota Timberwolves and the Toronto Raptors. He flamed out early in the league averaging just 4.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.5 assists from 151 games.

Oladipo had an injury-riddled career in the league, but the guard had one of the better games in his prime with a career average of 17.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.

It was the same case with Porter Jr. who also had inconsistency as one of the major drawbacks. He is currently with the Raptors, while Cody Zeller plies his trade for the New Orleans Pelicans. As for Len, he now plays for the Sacramento Kings.

Over the years, there have been multiple re-draft features around the 2013 NBA Draft, but it goes without saying that it will go down in history as one of the weaker drafts in the NBA.
