Young Frenchman Victor Wembanyama is, arguably, the greatest NBA prospect since LeBron James. As a point guard in a 7-foot frame, Wemby is on course to break the NBA, and his arrival to the pros is sure to make things extremely exciting for the fans.
While Vic is almost perfect as a prospect, there have been concerns about how his body will hold up at the NBA level. Specifically, some are worried that Wembanyama is too skinny to battle against some of the league’s larger centers. Speaking on this subject on Good Morning America, however, Victor denied that he needed to bulk up his body to be successful in the NBA.
“They don’t know my work ethic. I know how I work, how we work, with my surroundings and environment, I could never have any doubts. Why? What for,” asked Victor when addressing the “bulk up” requests. “You should tell others to skinny up.”

At 7’2″ and roughly 240 pounds, Victor Wembanyama is rather light for his height, and he’s got a lanky frame to match. On the court, this can be advantageous for the basketball star as he uses his body in miraculous ways to create space and shoot over defenders.
In the league, though, it’s often true that college players need to get bigger to match the size and physicality of the NBA landscape.
Wemby Feels No Pressure To Live Up To Expectations
With a little over 24 hours before the NBA draft, it’s already certain that Victor Wembanyama will get drafted by the Spurs with the first overall pick. With such an elite game, Wembanyama has got the potential to be an all-time great, but he still somehow feels no pressure at all to meet the expectations.
These are all good signs for Victor’s path to stardom, and it will be interesting to see how he adapts to the NBA level when he finally makes his debut. Needless to say, people are expecting big things from this dude, and he seems intent on delivering in every way.
