Brook Lopez is perhaps one of the more underrated players in the NBA. He has played at a high level for 15 years, carving out a great role for himself in the league and even becoming an NBA champion with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Brook Lopez and his brother Robin are both brilliant characters and well-loved across the league. And he once revealed something that makes him even more lovable, the fact that he got himself a house in Walt Disney World.

“Yeah, it’s on the property,” Lopez told Thanasis Antetokounmpo when asked about living in Disney. “So obviously, there are the four theme parks… that whole property is twice the size of Manhattan, right? It’s a big space. And on that property, also happens to be my house. With all that stuff.

“That’s like a little kid’s dream, right? Rob and I would legitimately pick like, what spot in the park would you live in if you could live in the park? What would your choice be? And it must have been my second or third year in the league, something like that. My other brother Chris sent me a Yahoo article, like a link and the title was, ‘You can now buy homes in Disney World.’

“So I looked at the link, read the article real quick, clicked on the actual link to Disney Golden Oak community site, and it honestly must have been the fastest process of purchasing the house, like the property that ever happened. It was all so fast.”

Brook Lopez has always been a slightly quirky character, but that belies how effective he is on the basketball court. He was in the conversation for Defensive Player Of The Year this season, and he has been an All-Star in the past, as well as making All-Defensive Teams. His additions to his house were wild, though.

Brook Lopez Had Secret Passages Built Into His House

A lot of people that have the money and the passion to design something truly unique take the time to do it. And Lopez wasn’t just going to settle for having a house in Disney, he wanted it to be a fun place as well. He revealed how he had secret passages built into his home.

“We picked a lot, it was lot 7B, this is the one I’m picking… We bought just a lot so we could build our dream home… From there, the design process took like five years… We started going like so in-depth with what we wanted. We wanted to get it just right, get all the secret passages in there. All the cool tricks that you can find in the house, we had to get it just right.”

A lot of NBA players get some amazing things done in their houses, but this is one of the wildest ones. Brook Lopez doesn’t get nearly enough flowers for the things he does, but he is a truly fun and passionate individual.
