NBA Fans Debate Whether Nikola Jokic Would Be A Top 5 Center Of All Time With A Title

Nikola Jokic is just one win away from winning an NBA title, and fans debated whether he'd become a top-five center of all time with it.

Nikola Jokic has been on a postseason run for the ages in 2023, and he has the Denver Nuggets just one win away from their first NBA title. The Serbian is putting up historic numbers, with ridiculous averages of 30.1 PPG, 13.3 RPG, 9.8 APG, 1.1 SPG, and 1.0 BPG in these playoffs.

Unless the Miami Heat pull off a remarkable comeback from down 3-1, Jokic looks set to win the title and NBA fans debated whether he’d be a top 5 center of all time with it.

A fan says Jokic would rank sixth for him if he wins this title.

No. He becomes Top 6. He enters Moses Malone territory.

He still doesn’t pass Wilt, Shaq, Russell, Hakeem, Kareem.

Jokic is already a top-five center of all time for one fan.

A fan thinks Jokic would make it in, but he’d still be far away from the top three.

Ya but no where near #1 #2 or #3. Lotta work to do. Career totals wise. His peak this last 4 years in insane though.

One fan believes if Jokic keeps this up for a few more years, he’d become a top-five player of all time.

Keeps playing like this for many more years and he will be a top five *player* of all time.

Jokic would need more rings to crack the top five for one fan.

He's top 10. He needs more rings to be top 5.

Center is certainly the hardest position for someone to make it to the top five. While Jokic would have two MVPs, a Finals MVP, and a title to his name, his resume still doesn’t match that of the ones who are generally regarded as the best at the position.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: 6x title, 2x Finals MVP, 6x MVP

Bill Russell: 11x title, 5x MVP

Wilt Chamberlain: 2x title, 1x Finals MVP, 4x MVP

Shaquille O’Neal: 4x title, 3x Finals MVP, 1x MVP

Hakeem Olajuwon: 2x title, 2x Finals MVP, 1x MVP, 1x DPOY

The only reason Bill Russell didn’t win Finals MVP was that the award only came into existence in his last season, or else he’d have won a fair few. If Jokic can win multiple titles like all of these greats did, then he would certainly enter the discussion.

NBA Analyst Said Nikola Jokic Will Be The Greatest Center In NBA History

Jokic had quite a few detractors prior to this incredible run, who believed he wasn’t a great postseason performer. He has put that talk to bed in some style and former NBA player Jay Williams believes Jokic is on his way to becoming the greatest center in league history.

Williams called him the most skilled offensive big to ever play the game and there is no arguing that. Jokic can literally do everything on offense, and for all the criticism regarding his defense, he has been fairly decent on that end of the floor in these playoffs too. It has been a pleasure to watch him dominate in these games and hopefully, he can keep it up for a few more years.
