The Denver Nuggets are just one win away from winning the first NBA Championship in franchise history. They wouldn’t have been doorstep of becoming NBA champions without the brilliant performances of Jamal Murray.
Murray is currently averaging 26.7 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 7.1 APG in the playoffs. It’s certainly an upgrade after averaging 20.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG, and 6.2 APG during the regular season. Speaking of which, Nikola Jokic had a great message for Murray ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season.
“I told him in the beginning of the season he’s not gonna be good the first couple months,” Jokic told ESPN’s Malika Andrews. “But now, he’s playing at the level I thought he was going to play. He’s a really good player, but I think he matured. I think the injury kind of slowed him down but made him read the game better.”

Jamal Murray tore the ACL in his left knee back in April 2021. As a result, Murray was ruled out of the 2020-21 NBA season while averaging 21.2 PPG at the time. The Canadian superstar was also sidelined for the entire 2021-22 NBA season due to his ACL injury as well.

Evidently, he was a bit rusty when making a comeback this past summer. Nikola Jokic showed nothing but support for his teammate, and it’s paying off well in the 2023 playoffs.
The Denver Nuggets currently hold a 3-1 lead over the Miami Heat and can wrap things up in Game 5 of the series.
Paul Pierce Hailed Jamal Murray As The Best Point Guard In The NBA
Jamal Murray recorded 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 12 assists in a 108-95 Game 4 win vs. the Heat in the 2023 NBA Finals.
Murray has continued his sensational form in the playoffs as NBA legend Paul Pierce gave the 26-year-old his flowers on Twitter. Pierce labeled Murray the best point guard in the league right now.
“Jamal Murray is the best point guard in the league.”
Pierce is entitled to his opinion, but the likes of Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving are still better than him.
Either way, Murray and the Nuggets are just one win away from being crowned as the champions of the league this season.
