The Nuggets have been the most consistent team in the entire playoffs this year. Leading up to the NBA Finals, they lost only three games and went undefeated on their home floor. Against the Heat, they’ve been nearly perfect aside from Game 2 when they took the loss in Denver.

Even now, with a 3-1 series lead, the Nuggets don’t plan on letting go of the rope. In fact, during a recent chat with the media, 2x MVP Nikola Jokic explained that he’s not letting himself get too excited about the thought of winning Game 5.

“We’re gonna be locked in and ready,” said Jokic. “It’s just gonna be a game that we need to win.”

The Nuggets can practically taste the Larry O’Brien trophy now, and it’s going to be tough for the Heat to keep up with a Nuggets team that is better, deeper, and more disciplined in almost every way.

For Jokic and the Nuggets, this is likely just the start of a long and successful era.

Nikola Jokic Is Climbing The All-Time Leaderboards

As a 2x MVP, Jokic is already the best player in Nuggets franchise history and if he’s able to win the title this year, it will skyrocket him into the top 25 all-time. By the time his career is all said and done, some believe Jokic will have a claim for being the greatest big man ever.

“I’m gonna go with the one player that I think frankly before it’s all said and done, he will be the best center to ever play the game of basketball,” said Jay Williams. “There you go. I’ve said it. Nikola Jokic.”

Jokic is keeping his eyes on the prize right now, but don’t expect him to relax when he’s won the chip, either. Regardless of how this series plays out, the Nuggets are going to be a factor next year and they will be the team to beat in the West.

Let’s just hope, for their sake, that the Nuggets can close this series without any trouble…
