Nikola Jokic is one of the premiere talents in the NBA right after eight years of working hard and getting better every season. The Serbian player has earned his stripes and right now is one win away from becoming an NBA champion for the first time.

It wasn’t an easy journey for Jokic, but the player earned his position in the league as one of the best. Not much has been said about his performances before making it to the league, and fans couldn’t believe how great the center was during his time playing in Serbia. Old footage of Jokic dominating with KK Mega recently surfaced.

Jokic was doing whatever he liked on the court, destroying rivals and getting his buckets from anywhere. Many fans reacted to this, showing their surprise at how good he actually was.

“How did the NBA scouts miss all of this? Massive L.”

“Jokic was rumored to go play in Barcelona after his stash year. That would’ve been wild good thing Denver brought him over.”

“Seeing Jokic do a crossover is mind-boggling.”

“Damn near look like KD .”

“Yeah seeing this… I’m not even mad at the wild a** shots he was hitting vs. the Lakers… He’s been playing this way for a long time ‍♂️.”

“This is awesome.”

“He’s really a BIG guard… ‍ .”

“He hasn’t even shown the league the whole bag yet.”

“So much quicker.”

The Joker always had this type of talent and it’s unclear why he didn’t get as much attention as other European players got before and after him. He moved very quickly, had even better handles than now, and was making those crazy shots from different spots already.

He earned MVP honors in the Adriatic League in 2015, posting 15.4 points, a league-leading 9.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game with KK Mega. Following that magical run, he decided to go to the NBA and the rest is history.

Nikola Jokic Didn’t Consider His Game Fast Enough For The NCAA

Ironically, Jokic thought his game wouldn’t have translated so well into college basketball. Back in 2014, he stated that NCAA players jumped very high and were really athletic, which differed a lot from what he did on the court.

Well, call me crazy but I think he would have gotten so much more attention if he played his way in college. Jokic has a beautiful style of play that has been effective in the NBA and caused a major effect on the Nuggets. He plays at his own pace, has a big impact on the game and the best thing is that he’s not ball-dominant.

The Nuggets ran the offense through him yet Jokic doesn’t need the ball in his hands at all times. That’s what makes him so special for this squad.

We could be talking about a different story if he went to college before declaring for the draft, but I’m pretty sure everybody, especially the Denver Nuggets, is happy that things worked this way for Jokic.

He’s now on the verge of winning an NBA championship, getting people used to seeing him record triple-doubles, and dominate rivals with his seemingly simple, slow-motion playstyle.
