The NBA is making moves to give the fans a better show, and the league’s front office has some interesting ideas in mind.

One of the biggest concerns for fans in the past seasons has been flopping, which is a common practice for players. The league is targeting these actions and would start to punish them next season.

“The NBA’s Competition Committee is discussing the potential of in-game penalty for flops that would result in a technical foul free throw. Trial is possible at Summer League in July,” Shams Charania reports.

The league has several players famous for flopping, although some, like LeBron James, deny they have incurred in these practices. Well, many fans and analysts know that the King embraced Hollywood even before going to Los Angeles, becoming an actor on the court sometimes.

Marcus Smart, Joel Embiid, and others will also have a hard time adapting to this new rule, but the league is doing it to favor the show and give the fans a better product to watch.

Adam Silver Explains The NBA Has Challenges With Physicality And New Trends In The League

NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently talked about the challenge the league faces with physicality, as well as the decisions they made in the past to favor offensive players against unfair advantages their rivals used to have.

“And I think we lost some of the fans over time in the process. Physicality where a big, strong player could come in, and prevent an incredibly skilled player from doing those kinds of things. I think not a small player in this case, but someone like Stephen Curry. When you do the kind of things, you can do on the court.”

The NBA is always thinking of giving a better product to fans, and these in-game penalties can make things a lot better. Many players tend to exaggerate their actions, and many referees buy their acting. Now, the front office is working to change this, and fans will be happy to see it.
