Anthony Davis suffered an injury scare during the first half of Game 1 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies.
Davis was unable to move his arm heading into the locker room at halftime, but returned to the game later. AD helped the team register a stunning 128-112 Game 1 win. During the postgame conference, Davis revealed details about the shoulder injury he sustained.
“Jaren Jackson Jr. kind of came down on my shoulder,” Davis said. “I haven’t seen the play, so I’m not sure if he came down or hit it [or[ whatever. But had a little stinger where my arm went completely numb. It was weak, couldn’t lift it up or hold it up myself. I couldn’t move it. … Did some strength training, and I was good to go.

Anthony Davis has been pivotal for the Los Angeles Lakers’ success this season. If the team lost him for the postseason, it could have been a huge blow for them. After all, the Lakers had an underwhelming 12-14 record this season without AD.
Is Anthony Davis Fit To Play For Game 2 vs. The Memphis Grizzlies?
The Lakers currently hold a 1-0 lead over the Grizzlies. But it doesn’t take long for leads to slip in the postseason.
Keeping that in mind, the Lakers need Anthony Davis to be healthy and at his 100% to have a shot at winning the Western Conference. Fortunately, according to Mike Trudell, there is no concern about Davis’ shoulder injury heading into Game 2 of the opening round.
“Davis said JJJ landed on his shoulder at the end of that 2nd Q, and at first he couldn’t move it, but he was fine by the 3rd Q. Called it a stinger. No concern moving forward.”

Davis will return to action in the next game as well. It’s certainly a piece of good news for the Laker nation.
In Game 1, Anthony Davis recorded 22 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 7 blocks. If AD can continue being a monster on the defensive end of the floor, the Lakers have a genuine chance at progressing to the second round of the playoffs.
