NBA fans have learned about the big news regarding Kyrie Irving and his immediate future with the Dallas Mavericks. The player will miss tonight’s game against the Chicago Bulls in a crucial game for the team.

This is a huge game for the Mavericks if they want to keep their play-in tournament hopes alive. Going against the inspired Bulls without their second-best player sounds like a bad plan right now.

Upon learning about this, many fans reacted to the news. With only two games left to finish the 2022-23 NBA regular season, this is a big blow for the Mavs, who will still have Luka Doncic on the court, but going without Kyrie will make things harder for him.

Some fans credited this decision to the tanking the Mavericks will try for the final two games of the season.

Somebody said it would be better for neutral fans to see them lose, or the media would go crazy about a potential win.

Hope they lose bc the media narratives will be crazy if they win

Some fans claimed that this means the end of Kyrie’s tenure in Dallas, something that’s been reported around the league recently.

It’s over.

Kyrie not coming back to this team next season, that’s for damn sure.

One fan was glad to see Irving out of the lineup because he ‘makes them worse.’

Good Kyrie makes them worse

Somebody just trolled the Mavericks, predicting that they will get a quick playoffs exit this season.

Obviously, this experiment hasn’t worked as expected, and the Mavericks want to see different teams from their star duo. Luka still admires Kyrie, and the point guard wants to help his team, but so far, things haven’t worked in their favor.

Bulls are now resting Patrick Beverley along with Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan. Alex Caruso is questionable vs. Mavs.

The bright side for the Mavericks is that the Bulls will have several players out too.

Dallas Mavericks Want To Re-Sign Kyrie Irving Past This Season

Even though they’ve had bad results after trading for Kyrie ahead of the 2023 deadline, the Mavericks are reportedly ready to keep the controversial player beyond this season. Mark Cuban revealed that is the team’s number-one priority after the season is over, but it remains to be seen if the Mavericks can convince Kyrie to stay with them.

The player is reportedly ready to test the free agency this offseason, which could ruin every plan that Cuban and the front office may have right now.
