Larry Bird Once Walked Into A Locker Room And Asked Four Black Players In The 3PT Contest: “Which One Of You, You-Know-What’s, Is Going To Finish 2nd?”

Skip Bayless revealed the time when Larry Bird trash-talked four Black players during an All-Star game.

The analyst rolled back the years when the Boston Celtics legend took on four unnamed players who took part in the 3-point contest: “Which one of you, you-know-what’s, is going to finish 2nd?” Bird had told, per Bayless. “And he got away with it because it was 1986,” the ‘Undisputed’ host added.

“There were four other black guys in the 3PT contest, and he asked them face-to-face: ‘Which one of you, you-know-what’s, is going to finish 2nd?’ And he got away with it because it was 1986.”

Bayless’ Bird story came to light when he and Shannon Sharpe were discussing the criticism Angel Reese received earlier this week for trash-talking Caitlin Clark. The analyst also claimed that Bird had used a racial slur, and that surely comes as news.

All things said, Bayless has managed to put himself and the Boston icon in the limelight again with a rather bold and riveting story.

As far as Bird’s record in the three-point contests is concerned, he’s won it three consecutive times from 1986 to 1988.

Isiah Thomas Recounts The Time When Larry Bird Was Disappointed That The Pistons Had Three White Players Guarding Him

Isiah Thomas brought one Larry Bird story from the vault during his immersive interview with Matt Barnes and Stephen Smith on All The Smoke. The story was all about the Celtics superstar upset that the Detroit Pistons had three White players guarding him.

[Starts 1:34:00 onwards]

“One time, we had Kelly Tripucka, Bill Laimbeer, and Kent Benson, all white guys. So we walk out on the court, and he said, ‘who guards me?’ Larry always calls me Cheesy, so he asked, ‘Cheesy, who guarding me? And I’m like, we got Kelly, Lamb, and Benson, and he’s like, you ain’t got no brothers? That’s disrespectful, you can’t put no White guys on me!”

This wasn’t the first time that Bird had expressed his displeasure. Charles Barkley once said Bird was cursing under his breath when the 76ers put a white player on him.

And while Bayless has his story, there are also instances where the race of the player didn’t ever matter to the Celtics superstar. Guess this one’s up for debate as well.
