Ja Morant has been at the center of a media storm after he was seen posing with fun at a strip club on Instagram some time ago.
Since the incident, Ja Morant has missed 5 games for the Memphis Grizzlies, lost out on sponsorships, and been talked about endlessly in the media. But the main thing everyone was waiting for was the NBA’s investigation, which has now concluded.
NBA investigation into Ja Morant did not conclude that the gun belonged to Morant, was brought by him into the nightclub or was displayed by him beyond a brief period… "also did not find that Morant possessed the gun while traveling with the team or in any NBA facility." https://t.co/QRaNhu9gk5

The NBA has suspended Grizzlies star Ja Morant for eight games after a league investigation into him displaying an apparent gun at a Denver nightclub on social media on March 4,” reported Shams Charania on Twitter.
“NBA investigation into Ja Morant did not conclude that the gun belonged to Morant, was brought by him into the nightclub or was displayed by him beyond a brief period… ‘also did not find that Morant possessed the gun while traveling with the team or in any NBA facility.'”
The biggest question surrounding the Ja Morant situation had been whether he had carried the gun on the plane. If it had been in any premises linked to the NBA then the resulting suspension would have been a massive one. As it is, 8 games aren’t too bad considering how much the situation has blown up. And Ja Morant can hope to return to the basketball court soon.
When Will Ja Morant Be Able To Make His Return?
The incredible thing about this suspension from the NBA is that this will include the games Ja Morant has already missed. He hasn’t played in the last 5 games for the Grizzlies, and he was also set to miss the game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. As part of the suspension, he will miss the next two games against the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors as well.
Ja Morant could technically return on March 20th against the Dallas Mavericks, but that is unlikely, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
Morant hadn't been playing basketball while at a counseling center in Florida, so his ramp up is expected to extend past Monday's game vs. Dallas when he's first eligible to return, sources tell ESPN. It's expected that he'll return to play shortly thereafter.

There is only one way for Ja Morant to move past this whole ordeal, and that is to stay far away from controversy off the court while balling out when he does return to NBA basketball. Considering how much grief this has caused him and his team, 8 games is a pretty decent number for Morant to have gotten.
