All-Star Jaylen Brown is one of the premier two-way players in the NBA, and he has been a franchise cornerstone for the Boston Celtics over the last few seasons. He played a huge role in the team getting to the NBA Finals, and it is possible that the Celtics will be able to get there once again this season.

After the recent Boston Celtics game against the Atlanta Hawks, Dominique Wilkins had huge praise for the Celtics star. He noted that Brown “wants to be one of the best”, adding that the forward reminds him of himself.

“I watched him when he was a young man here in Atlanta,” Wilkins said. “To see his growth and what he’s come to be — he was like a man amongst boys back then because of his physicality and he was so much bigger and stronger than those guys…He’s developed each and every year because he wants to be one of the best to play this game. I’ve always been a fan of his. I’ve always appreciated how hard he plays. He plays with no fear and doesn’t mind banging down there with bigger guys. A lot of things that he’s doing, it reminds me of myself.”

As of right now, Jaylen Brown is putting up 26.3 PPG, 6.9 RPG, and 3.4 APG for the Boston Celtics. He has been a force on both ends for them, with some even suggesting that he is an MVP candidate. Hopefully, he has a strong finish to the season.

The Atlanta Hawks Have Had An Interest In Jaylen Brown In The Past

The Atlanta Hawks are actually a team that has shown an interest in acquiring Jaylen Brown in the past, and at one point, they were viewed as the biggest threat in acquiring Brown from the Celtics.

“They’ve been after more two-way players in recent years because signing up a few big names around Trae Young has not worked out. We’ll have to see what they do with (De’Andre) Hunter and (Onyeka) Okongwu because they will need extensions but if they can clear out the room, that’s probably the biggest team to worry the Celtics,” stated an Eastern Conference executive.

There is no doubt that seeing Jaylen Brown join up with Trae Young and Dejounte Murray would be amazing, and that trio could potentially be the foundation for a championship-level team.

With that being said, it is hard to see Jaylen Brown leaving the Boston Celtics anytime soon. He is on a competitive team with a legitimate chance of winning a championship, which is obviously appealing to any player. However, things could easily change in the future, and we’ll see what ends up happening.
