The Los Angeles Lakers may have had an underwhelming campaign so far in the 2022-23 NBA season. They currently have a 25-30 record and hold the 13th seed in the Western Conference. But things are about to change for the Purple and Gold.
Throughout the season, the team was urged by fans to make some valuable trades and improve the roster around LeBron James. Well, after months of waiting, the Lakers finally traded Russell Westbrook in a 3-team trade that helped them in getting D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, and Jarred Vanderbilt.
Speaking of Russell Westbrook, his time with the Los Angeles Lakers was short and certainly not full of joy.
Video Shows Russell Westbrook Was Not Happy With The Lakers
Considering Russell Westbrook was once one of the best point guards in the league, being a bench player for the Lakers was certainly difficult for him. But Westbrook did adjust to that role, and for a while, he was doing pretty well.
However, even when Westbrook was playing well, there were constant rumors about him being on the trading block. The former NBA MVP was obviously unhappy with the treatment, and it started to reflect on his behavior on the court. During the Lakers’ most recent game against the Thunder, Westbrook showed that by keeping himself out of the team huddle.

The video obviously went viral online and showed that Russ was uninterested in playing for the Lakers. Well, Westbrook’s wish came true as he was soon traded and is now no longer a member of the Lakers.
As for his future, there are many rumors about the Utah Jazz not wanting to keep Russ on the roster. Instead, he is expected to be bought out by the team and later join a title contender. But the bigger question is whether any of the title contenders truly want him on the roster or not.
