James Harden didn’t have the best start to his tenure with the Philadelphia 76ers, failing to make an impact on the team last season, finishing the campaign under fire, and receiving a lot of criticism for his performances.

This season, however, things are going better for Harden and the Sixers. Even though they’ve missed some key players at different points of the season, the team remains competitive and ready to go against anybody. Harden isn’t the go-to guy there, but he still has the ability to put up good numbers.

He remains one of the best shooting guards in the NBA, which is great news for the Sixers if they want to aspire to win the championship this season. After a difficult first season there, he’s ready to go all the way to the Finals, and Harden is pretty confident in his chances to win it all.

James Harden Diminishes His Old Teams To Uplift The 2023 Philadelphia 76ers

Following the Sixers’ 120-110 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, Harden spoke with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, revealing his expectations for this team. The Beard knows that he was part of big teams in the past but also believes that this squad is his best chance to win that elusive NBA championship (2:50 mark).

“Top, for sure. We had some really good teams in Oklahoma City, then that ’18 team in Houston. But this team is definitely the best chance I’ve had to win.”

The Sixers have had huge expectations around them since they paired Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. Simmons was traded for Harden last year in a move that still makes noise around the league. Now that the Australian is gone, they brought up Harden to help Joel Embiid reach the promised land, but their first couple of games together didn’t go as expected.

Right now, the Sixers rank 3rd in the East with a 28-16 record. Harden is averaging 21.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 11.1 assists per game, showing that he’s not the scorer he was before, but he can still give people buckets while making life easier for his teammates.

He has big goals now, and the Sixers appear to be in a good position to help Harden achieve them. However, the competition is hard, but the Beard seems ready to defy and beat the odds.
