NBA superstars teaming up with others has become a common thing in the NBA in the past 15 years or so. After not being able to beat the competition, some players have tried to find a new and easier way to win a championship, although many fans criticize them for that.

That was the case for Kevin Durant and LeBron James, who have become famous for making superteams wherever they go. Still, this isn’t seen with bad eyes by some people, and certain fans think players like Bradley Beal, Damian Lillard, and especially Luka Doncic should join forces with another star to have a better shot at the Larry O’Brien trophy.

In recent days, the rumors of Luka teaming up with Nikola Jokic have gotten louder, with many claiming that they could play together in Dallas. However, things could happen in a different way than most people think.

Nikola Jokic Could Recruit Luka Doncic To Denver Nuggets

According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, he wouldn’t be so sure that Jokic is going to Dallas to help Doncic. It would be the other way around, with Luka leaving Dallas and going to Denver to create a terrific duo with the Serbian big man (11:30 mark).

“Well, the only reason I’m gonna say yes is because I’ve seen Mavericks fans (acting enthusiastically), ‘Him and Luka are buddies, Jokic’s in the house,'” MacMahon said, via Ahn Fire Digital. “I would be more concerned about perhaps that thing going the other way.”

This is an interesting way to put this situation, as everybody knows the Nuggets have a better chance to win it all than the Dallas Mavericks right now. Even though they haven’t reached the same instances they reached in the Orlando bubble, many think that their Big 3 is good enough to compete for a spot in the Finals. As for Luka, he’s a solo show, and last season showed how far he can go with the Mavericks.

It is time to see the team making the moves that will surround Luka with the right talent. Recent rumors suggest that Zach LaVine could be a target, and Trae Young could end up in Dallas, too, but it’s still too early to know.

This team has a generational talent in Luka, and if up to them to maximize that. They need to pair Doncic with somebody that can help him win a trophy, or the Slovenian could leave this squad if results don’t come.
