Luka Doncic made NBA history last night with his incredible performance against the New York Knicks. We have never seen a performance like that in history before and it will be ages before we actually get another chance to see something like this again.

Doncic scored 60 points, grabbed 21 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists to help the Mavs overcome a 9-point deficit in under 35 seconds to force overtime and then win the game. After the historic night, Doncic said that he needed a recovery beer because he was tired. Well, the Mavs partnered with Michelob Ultra to get multiple crates of beer for the Mavs superstar.

Fans and NBA players alike were stunned at the performance by Doncic. It has helped him bring the Mavs into an automatic playoff seed once again and has brought him back into the MVP conversation.

The Dallas Mavericks Need To Maximize Luka Doncic

The game as a whole is a pretty poor reflection of what the Mavs have built around Luka. They have inconsistent shooters and defenders that can’t have the same level of high performance for a long period of time. Doncic is the only one that maintains a high level of performance every night, which means the Mavs need to get Luka’s help.

Their record of 19-16 is just not good enough given the level at which Doncic is playing. Hopefully, the Mavs are looking to acquire a second star for Doncic quickly. They’ve been linked to players like Zach LaVine, but they need to be careful. The assets they give up for the second star might handicap the franchise in the future, so it’s a delicate situation.
