Kevin Durant is one of the greatest players and scorers in the history of basketball. He is a two-time champion and two-time Finals MVP, and there’s no doubt that Kevin Durant will be a first-ballot Hall-of-Fame player.

Even though he is no longer at his peak, Kevin Durant is still a fantastic player. This season with the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant has averaged 29.9 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 5.4 APG while shooting 35.3% from beyond the arc.

Recently, an NBA fan on Reddit made a post suggesting that Kevin Durant is “quietly having an insane season.” This led to a lot of discussion among NBA fans, many of whom also believed that Kevin Durant is underrated.

I think it’s more just that everyone’s so accustomed to it that it doesn’t stand out. Even at 34, people take it for granted.

It’s not just being 34, it’s after having an Achilles tear. What he’s doing is unprecedented in nba history.

I find it insane how that Achilles tear hasn’t really slowed him down. It’s almost like it never happened with how he still plays so well.

I dont think its underrated in a sense that we dont realize what he is doing is special. I think it is just we are so used to this from him that we’ve accepted special as his standard.

He hasn’t rlly gotten recognition in the award races

He’s a flat out better player than Tatum

I’m personally so pumped about KD’s play this year. I think he’s chronically underrated, not just this year but also as far as where he places in some all time conversations. I don’t mind that it’s not being talked about tbh I’m just going to keep enjoying.

Definitely. Amazing player

He can also be an elite defender when it matters

He’s a better offensive player than Giannis while also playing all-defensive team level defense

How is it underrated? KD has been him since he entered the league and he continues to score whenever and however he wants. If the nets continue to win and get a top seed he will get MVP votes.

Ppl acknowledge him as a top 5 player here but I think he’s more so top 3, and has a case for top 2

I know slim reaper is a sick nickname but I alway think it should be human cheat code cuz this dude is unfairly unreal….or maybe we can save that for wemby

KD is the current GOAT.

There is no doubt that what Kevin Durant is doing right now is special, and perhaps he should be getting a lot more attention. He has managed to lead the Brooklyn Nets to the 4th seed in a stacked Eastern Conference, and it is a surprise that he hasn’t gotten more MVP buzz from analysts and fans.

The Brooklyn Nets Simply Want To Win

Though the team has dealt with a number of off-court controversies during the Kevin Durant era, it seems as though they’re on track. Recently, Kyrie Irving revealed that the team’s attitude is to “just go win ball games.”

“Man, let’s just go win ball games. That’s It. That’s really what the attitude is. Just win ball games. We know the talent we have. This is our group. No more excuses, no more distractions, no more throwing in surprise injuries. We just want everybody to be healthy.”

It remains to be seen how far the Brooklyn Nets get this season. They definitely have the talent to get to the Finals, but they will have to go through teams such as the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics to get there.

With Kevin Durant playing at an MVP level, though, the Brooklyn Nets have a chance to beat almost any team in a seven-game series. Hopefully, he manages to continue to play at this level, and we’ll see how the Nets look come the postseason.
