The Los Angeles Lakers had an impressive win over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. They managed to get the job done against the Nuggets despite Anthony Davis playing only 17 minutes due to injury troubles. The whole team stepped up, LeBron James scored 30, and Russell Westbrook had a triple-double. But there was another player who unexpectedly stepped it up quite a bit.
Thomas Bryant was the big man that had to come in and fill the huge shoes Anthony Davis left behind. He did so admirably, scoring 21 points in 23 minutes and playing admirably. The win was a collective effort from the Lakers‘ roster that is a very good sign for the team moving forward, considering the questions that have been asked of them. And Head Coach Darvin Ham wasn’t about to let it go unappreciated.
Darvin Ham Showed His Gratitude And Appreciation In The Locker Room After The Lakers Won
Any group of players that has been criticized as much as these Lakers have deserves their flowers when they can prove the narrative around them wrong. There have been many rumors about the team and the potential trades that could break them up. So Darvin Ham ensured that the people that stepped up knew exactly how much their hard work has been noticed.

“Hell of a job, guys. Hell of a job. We lose a huge source of income at halftime, everybody chipped in. Everybody chipped in, and that’s what family do. Max, Russ, Bron, Dennis, Pat, everybody. Everybody that had that jersey on.
“But one guy in particular. One guy who was just in the ‘stay ready’ group and had to go out there and bus this a** against the two-time MVP. And he stepped up because he’s bought in. He embraces the family concept, believes in it, and we’re doing it and it may seem corny, but I don’t really give a damn.
TB. This man missed a whole season because he had an ACL tear, he’s back out here busting his a** for us. Giving it everything he got on both sides of the basketball. That’s what this is supposed to be about. That is our identity.”
It’s beautiful to see someone like Thomas Bryant come in and do a job well enough to get the game ball. While making a trade is still probably necessary for the Lakers to contend, their players are not giving up without a fight. And looking at Darvin Ham’s style, it’s easy to see why they’re fighting so hard.
