The Phoenix Suns were one of the best teams in the league last season. Finishing as the team with the best record in the league, the Suns were supposed to make a run for consecutive Finals appearances in the NBA. But instead, they lost to the Dallas Mavericks.

While they have retained their star big man in DeAndre Ayton, things have gone downhill behind the scenes. Perhaps one of the biggest controversies of the offseason, it was revealed that Suns’ owner Robert Sarver was found to be hostile, racially insensitive, and inappropriate behavior and was suspended for a year. While the decision by the league was off-putting for many fans and critics, Sarver ultimately released a statement that he would be selling the Suns and WNBA outfit, Phoenix Mercury.

Phoenix Suns Could Be Sold For $3 Billion

Ever since Sarver released the statement that he would sell the team, many have been speculating on the price of the franchise. While they have not won an NBA championship, given that they are one of the top teams in the West right now, the team’s value is at an all-time high.

But given the controversy surrounding them, Sarver might have to settle for a lower value. In a recent post, it was revealed that the Suns could be sold for around $3 billion, which will be the most expensive ownership sale in NBA’s 75-year history.

Given how popular the league has become over the years and the league is bringing in loads of broadcasting revenue, it isn’t surprising to see that the Suns might be worth a whopping $3 billion. While the team might see a change in ownership very soon, it will be interesting to see how the team performs with all the ongoing off-the-court drama.

The Suns still have their core roster together and on paper look like one of the strongest teams in the West. Can the Suns show up for next season?
