Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best centers in the league today. While most people wouldn’t consider him an MVP-level player, he is a sharp-shooting big man with three All-Star selections and two All-NBA teams under his belt. He had a productive season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, averaging 24.6 PPG, 9.8 RPG, and 3.6 APG.

The Minnesota Timberwolves made a win-now move for Rudy Gobert this summer, and it is clear that they will be a dangerous team next year. It is up to Karl-Anthony Towns to lead them on a deep playoff run as the longest-tenured star and leader on the team.

Karl-Anthony Towns Thinks He’s One Of The Top Offensive Talents Ever To Be In The NBA

There is no doubt that over the course of his career, Karl-Anthony Towns has shown that he is an elite offensive engine capable of getting his team a win on any given night. Though Towns has not been able to make it far in the playoffs thus far, part of that is due to the Timberwolves previously failing to surround him with the required talent for him to be able to win at a high level.

On an individual level, there’s no questioning what Karl-Anthony Towns can do on the basketball court. In fact, the big man is clearly confident in his abilities, and he has recently stated that he is “one of the best offensive players” that “the NBA has ever seen”. Colin Ward-Henninger of CBS Sports relayed the news.

I think I’m one of the best offensive players and talents the NBA has ever seen.

The defining skill for Karl-Anthony Towns is definitely his shooting ability. He averages 39.7% from beyond the arc for his career, which is an absolutely elite mark for a center. Once, Towns even said that he is the “greatest big man shooter” ever.

“I’m the greatest big man shooter of all time. That’s a fact,” Towns said. “You can see the stats. I ain’t got to play like no one else. Everyone trying to find themselves to be the second version of me when I’m the first version. I don’t got to be the second version of someone else. I’m already an original. I don’t have to be a duplicate of someone else.”

At some point, individual talent has to translate into team success and wins. Perhaps we will see the Minnesota Timberwolves become one of the breakout teams of next season, with Towns at the helm.

Hopefully, we see Karl-Anthony Towns have a productive season next year. He is in his prime currently, and perhaps we will see Karl-Anthony Towns show that he is a true superstar-level player.
