In the wake of Luka Doncic dropping 47 points on France, Giannis Antetokounmpo woke up feeling dangerous, too, and demolished Estonia, as Team Greece secured another win in the 2022 EuroBasket tournament. The Milwaukee Bucks superstar has been on a tear recently, and no team has been safe from him.

If there’s something that can stop Giannis, that’s injuries, and sadly, it seems like he picked up one while facing Estonia. Once again, he was unleashing all his power against a clearly weaker team, but this time, his body failed him, and Giannis had to leave the game earlier than expected.

As usual, he started off dominating the court, making it clear he was the best player on it. It was an easy job for Greece from the beginning, but now the alarms might be set after he reportedly suffered an ankle injury.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Apparently Got Hurt During Greece’s Demolishing Win Against Estonia

Amid the good news that Greece went 5-0 in the group round, things aren’t that happily for them, as their biggest figure has gone down with an injury. According to SLAM, Giannis was seen with ice on his ankle after leaving the game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo reportedly suffered an ankle injury on Thursday while playing for the Greek national team at Eurobasket, according to multiple reports.

Antetokounmpo suffered the injury while Greece was playing Estonia. Antetokounmpo didn’t return after tweaking his ankle, per multiple reports. The Greek Freak had his right knee wrapped in ice afterward as well. Antetokounmpo sat out Greece’s contest against Great Britain due to a right knee issue but did play against Ukraine on Tuesday. Coach Dimitris Itoudis said the Finals MVP sitting out was “nothing major.”

If Greece’s coach’s words are to be believed, we will see Giannis making his return to the competition in no time. We saw him return from what appeared to be a serious knee injury in 2021 and dominate in the NBA Finals, and hopefully, this can be a similar case for him.

Antetokounmpo is on a mission this year, and he won’t rest until he gets that gold medal in the most prestigious tournament in European basketball.
