The Los Angeles Clippers are getting ready to face an NBA season where they are considered one of the favorites to win it all. Added to the return of Kawhi Leonard to the court, the addition of John Wall is great for the team, and the veteran point guard can’t be more excited about this opportunity.
Following two rocky seasons in Houston, Wall is ready to start a new chapter in his career, and he’s already embracing the Clippers culture, taking shots at their crosstown rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers. These two teams were expected to battle it out for the supremacy of the Western Conference, but things haven’t gone in their favor.
Injuries have hurt the Clippers, while the Lakers have made some questionable decisions for their roster. Still, many people are excited about the upcoming battle of Los Angeles. Yet, Wall recently threw some water on that fire, saying that the Clips have dominated the head-to-head matchups recently, but clarifying that things can get better.
Via Lakers Nation:
“Battle? Whatever they call it. I think the Clippers like haven’t lost, what, the last eight times if I’m not mistaken? Yeah. Both haven’t been healthy, both teams haven’t been competing, but you know, we know what they have over there. And we know we have on our side. So, I think it’s gonna be a great battle and I think it’s a great opportunity for me. I think a lot of people will get to see me play on TV. I mean, being with Kawhi and those guys, they have a lot of TV games. I think that’s when people get to see your show.”
The Lakers still have some things to figure out if they want to be competitive. The Clippers have taken over the series and have won 14 duels in the last 5 seasons. Wall was wrong by only one number, as the Clippers have come up victorious in the last seven games against the Lakers. The Purple and Gold have collected only five wins against their city rivals, and that’s something they’d like to change next campaign.
On the other hand, the Clippers are ready to shock the world and show that they are the real deal with all their players healthy and ready to go.
