Dwyane Wade is a top player in the history of the NBA. The man won three championships with the Miami Heat and was honored as a member of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Top 75 team. There are very few that have been able to display the level of skill Wade did during his NBA career, and even after being retired for a while, he’s still got it.

Some think having an NBA superstar father makes it easier for children to make it to the league. And while there is some truth to that in terms of resources and connections, it’s also a lot harder because of the expectation that comes with it. However, many still try, and Wade’s son Zaire is among them. A video of him playing 1-on-1 with his dad during training recently went viral, with Wade spotted talking some trash to his son.

“Stop f**king crying. You want to beat me, you got to beat me. I ain’t letting you win sh*t. “

Zaire was complaining about Wade using his physicality to throw him off, which is what led to him getting an earful from his dad. The intensity seems to have been ratcheted up too. Wade backed down his son to score and then did the ‘too small’ gesture to show how easy it was.

It can be a fine line between being a coach and a dad, something Gary Payton has spoken about. Wade is usually a doting father, but it’s evident that he doesn’t hold back when he’s trying to help his son improve his game.

Zaire is currently in the G-League, and at the age of 20, is trying to make his way into the league. Shareef O’Neal is another who is currently trying to make it happen for himself, and while these players may eventually make it to the NBA, it would be too much to expect them to be as good as their fathers were.
