The Minnesota Timberwolves Starting 5 Has A Long Wingspan: D’Angelo Russell 6’10”, Anthony Edwards 6’9”, Jaden McDaniels 7’0”, Karl-Anthony Towns 7’4”, Rudy Gobert 7’9”

The Minnesota Timberwolves last season had an impressive showing ending up with a 46-36 record and the 7th position in the Western Conference. Not only that, the Timberwolves even made it all the way to the playoffs after winning their play-in game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

With their core of D’Angelo Russell, Anthony Edwards, and Karl-Anthony Towns, the Timberwolves showed incredible resilience and pushed a top team in the West in Grizzlies all the way to six games. Given how impressive the team performed last season, it was apparent that the Wolves might be a shopping team in the off-season.

As the free agency kicked off with some blockbuster moves, the Timberwolves weren’t going to stay behind the competition either. Yesterday, the franchise announced a blockbuster trade for French star Rudy Gobert.

While the Timberwolves traded some of their key role players and multiple draft picks, the 3-time DPOY certainly brings some much-needed defensive grit to the team and might pan out to be a great trade for the team. With their latest addition though, Minnesota now has 3 of their 5 starters who have a wingspan of more than 7 feet.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are L O N G.

Wingspan measurements of their starting five:

D’Angelo Russell – 6’10”
Anthony Edwards – 6’9”
Jaden McDaniels – 7’0”
Karl-Anthony Towns – 7’4”
Rudy Gobert – 7’9”

Good luck scoring on this team. pic.twitter.com/OIsCJ1nta6

While D’Lo and Anthony Edwards boast a wingspan of 6’10” and 6’9″ respectively, forwards Jaden McDaniels and superstar Karl-Anthony Towns have wingspans of 7’0″ and 7’4″. But Rudy Gobert certainly steals the show in this aspect with a massive wingspan of 7’9″.

KAT and Gobert certainly have a great chance to become an incredible frontcourt duo. While Towns already flourishes as an offensive talent. Gobert’s accolades speak for themselves. While KAT can help rack up points for the team, his 7’2″ French teammate can make sure that the basket is protected through and through.

Gobert is also a great pick and roll center thus opening up easier shots for the other players. If the Timberwolves can integrate the 3-time DPOY successfully into their team, Minnesota has a great chance to make some waves in the Western Conference at least.
