Enes Freedom is no longer an active player in the NBA, but his ongoing fight against social injustice has kept him relevant in the basketball world.

Recently, the guy even went viral on Twitter after posting a special birthday photo with a whole squad of FBI agents. It also came with the following message:

One of my best and definitely the most unique birthdays ever. Thank you for throwing me the coolest birthday party at @FBI

Special thanks to all the agents out there who are putting their lives on the line to protect America. We appreciate your service.

Fans were shocked to see the photo and, naturally, had a lot of questions. Really, though, nobody should be surprised:

Dating back to a few years ago, Freedom has been all-in on showing support for law enforcement and the United States government while calling out his fellow athletes for not speaking up on current world issues:

“Money over Morals for the ‘King.’ Sad and disgusting how these athletes pretend they care about social justice,” said Kanter. “They really do ‘shut up and dribble’ when Big Boss (China) says so. Did you educate yourself about the slave labor that made your shoes or is that not part of your research? I had so many conversations with LeBron’s ex-teammates and even they are the one that told me that LeBron, all he’s doing is own PR and everything he’s doing trying to stand up for things is not that he really feels about it.”

Enes, 30, played for 10 seasons in the NBA before he was booted by the Celtics early into this season. Now, he’s out of the NBA entirely and free to fight human rights battles full-time.

It remains to be seen if he will ever make a return to basketball, but it’s clear he has moved on to other projects now. It will be interesting to see what more he does in the years to come.
