Devin Booker will be remembered as one of the finest scorers of this generation, hopefully. We have added a hopefully because Booker still has a lot of achievements to earn before he can start putting himself into the conversation with the all-time greats. His early-career brilliance was minimized by his Phoenix Suns being one of the worst teams in the league.

For the last two seasons, Booker has arguably been the best shooting guard in the league and is on the team that led the regular season with 66 wins. However, nobody remembers the regular-season totals if there isn’t a championship to go along with it, something Booker desperately wants.

He revealed the same to Marc Spears of AndScape that he is purely focused on being at the top considering the years he experienced being at the bottom.

“Regular season is fun and dandy, especially with the winning record we have, breaking a franchise record this season. Especially from what I’ve seen. I’ve been at the bottom of the league. Flipping that, being at the top, that is what I am focused on.”

Booker also opened up on the impact of being a part of the 2022 All-Star Game and watching the greats of the game be honored on the 75th Anniversary Team, with many of his contemporaries like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and others making the list.

“The thing for me is the legacy stuff. Being at halftime of the (2022) All-Star Game and watching the Top 75 (players of all time) come out and the reading of their names. Like, ‘Five-time All-NBA. Six-time All-NBA.’ I don’t want to lose that. I think about legacy sometimes also. And if I earned it, I think I deserved it,” Booker added.

Booker is a ways off in getting his name uttered in conversations with the greatest of all time, but that doesn’t mean he can change that narrative this playoff run. He will get an All-NBA selection this season, he was an All-Star, but being an NBA Champion will make his legacy bulletproof.
