Tyler Herro On The Miami Heat Not Getting Too Much National Attention: “We Don’t Want Attention. They’ve Got To Come Through here Anyway.”

Tyler Herro is enjoying an incredible season with the Miami Heat. The youngster had a disappointing sophomore year after he broke out in the Bubble, with many making fun of him, but he has put together a solid 6th Man Of The Year worthy campaign and helped the Heat clinch the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Miami got swept in the playoffs last season by the eventual champion Milwaukee Bucks and that performance led to the team being labeled as a ‘Bubble team’ by some NBA fans. And while their season in 2021/22 has been extremely impressive, people aren’t quite ready to jump back on the bandwagon just yet.

The Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Boston Celtics have all gotten more shouts around the NBA to make it out of the East than the Nets. Some think Miami is the real deal, like Shaquille O’Neal, but just as many others expect them to lose. But the lack of respect doesn’t bother Herro, who spoke about it on Monday.

Herro, just now on other Eastern teams getting more national attention:"We don't want attention. They've got to come through here anyway."

“We don’t want attention. They’ve got to come through here anyway.”

As the 1st seed, the Heat are guaranteed home-court advantage throughout the playoffs at least until the NBA Finals. That means every team in their conference will have to beat them at their home arena to make it past the Heat. This is good for the Heat, who had an excellent 29-12 home record this season, the best in the entire conference.

They took Game 1 against the Hawks at home in their first-round series as well, putting together a dominant scoring performance to give them a solid advantage. If they are to get more respect from the national media, Miami will need to convincingly win at least their first playoff series. Naturally, though, the franchise’s ambitions are likely far greater than that.
