Former NBA player-turned-analyst Kendrick Perkins didn’t hold anything back against Ben Simmons after the Australian player decided to sit for Game 4 of the Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics first-round series on Monday night.
That decision upset a lot of people who instantly attacked Simmons for ‘running away’ from a challenge again. Perkins was part of that group that was unhappy with the playmaker, and he didn’t mince words to attack him. During Monday’s edition of ESPN’s NBA Today, the former Boston Celtics player used a big analogy to explain why Ben Simmons is toxic for teams.
Perkins claims that Ben is that beautiful girl who is single and it isn’t until people find out that she smokes that they understand why she is single. Perk went off and everybody in the studio laughed at his comments, somehow agreeing with the former center.

Just like Stephen A. Smith, Perkins has been ruthless with Ben Simmons. He’s been one of the player’s biggest critics in the past couple of weeks, and this situation seemingly reached its peak yesterday. Simmons will spend more than a year without playing when he makes his debut with the Nets next season.
He reportedly said that the stress from last year’s playoffs hasn’t ended and that is causing his back pains now. This is a tough situation for the player and his team, but hopefully, this offseason can help both parties.
