LeBron James has gotten to the top by combining his elite abilities with a determination to be at the top for as long as possible. So when the King achieves things in his career, he isn’t shy while celebrating, LBJ knows how good he is and he revels in the fruits of his hard work. To some, it may seem like arrogance, but any celebration when someone is as dedicated as LeBron is a personal choice.

After Nikola Jokic recently became the first NBA player to have a season with 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 500 assists, the way he celebrated by having all his teammates sign the ball went viral. And invariably it earned comparisons to LeBron signing the ball himself in the aftermath of becoming the first player to amass 30,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, and 10,000 assists in their career

Richard Jefferson, one of the funniest personalities in basketball media, didn’t miss a chance to troll his former teammate LeBron, while also subtly pointing out that it is ridiculous to compare the two things and draw any conclusions about LeBron’s personality.

“You think that’s wild you should see how Bron celebrated his 4 championships. The most expensive bottle of wine I’ve ever seen and drinks it all by himself. The most selfish superstar!!!! He doesn’t even do things for kids. SMH.”

Every player is unique in terms of how they deal with success and with the amount of scrutiny LeBron James faces daily, it’s not surprising that he likes to celebrate in style when he meets and exceeds the expectations placed upon him.

Jefferson loves a bit of banter, as is evident from his tweets, but the larger point of the amount of scrutiny LeBron faces is also apparent within his jokes. James may be prone to being a little cheesy on social media from time to time, and he certainly has his moments worth criticizing, but perhaps questioning the way he celebrates might be going a bit too far.
