Whether you are an NBA fan or not, there is a very slim chance you aren’t aware of who Michael Jordan is. The Chicago Bulls legend didn’t just mesmerize fans with his amazing skills as a player but also played a crucial role in globalizing the NBA.

As a result of his accomplishments, MJ is considered to be the GOAT of basketball for most. After years of playing in the NBA, Jordan decided to retire for the final time back in 2003.

The decision by Jordan only meant that he wasn’t connected to the NBA as a player. A few years later, Mike decided to purchase the then-Charlotte Bobcats. While Mike’s career as an owner hasn’t been quite as successful. In fact, at one point in time, Jordan was even criticized for his ownership style.

That might be the case in the initial years, but now MJ has adjusted well to his role as an owner of the team. So much so that Hornets forward Miles Bridges has nothing but praise for Jordan. He unveiled that Mike is very connected with the Hornets players in a recent episode of The Draymond Green podcast.

“Oh nah he’s connected. I got MJ’s number. I text him whenever we in a rough stretch and see what he would do in a situation or I text him about a game and he texts right back. As soon as I text him, I give it 5 minutes and he will text me back.”

He continued, “Before All-Star break, he came in and ripped our a**. We got beat at home by Orlando. He’s very attuned with us. It’s nice having the GOAT just being there for you at all times, being connected, and just being able to rely on him and have resources like that.”

As per Bridges, Jordan is not only connected with the players, he is also stern when required. This shift in nature as per the requirement is what probably makes MJ a great owner now.

Moreover, him being the GOAT adds more value to what he says to the players. Mike has openly discussed his expectations from the Hornets. Unsurprisingly, he wishes to win an NBA Championship with the Hornets.

The goal is understandable but it still might be a few years away. The team has certainly improved as they are currently in the 9th spot in the Eastern Conference. But considering how competitive the East is nowadays, they will need more hard work to have a shot at winning the title.
