The Los Angeles Lakers have had a disappointing season this year, and there’s no doubt that they are not close to being a championship contender. It is clear that some changes must be made in the offseason for them to become a contending team once again.

There has been a lot of speculation about LeBron James potentially leaving the Los Angeles Lakers, and LeBron James has stated previously that the “door’s not closed” on him potentially returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the future.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN has recently revealed that Rich Paul has met with Jeanie Buss and Rob Pelinka after LeBron James’ comments, and “made it clear” that LeBron James main goal “is remaining a Laker”, and that the priority is “to finish the season as strong as possible”.

In the aftermath of LeBron James’ public comments on a possible return to Cleveland and media reports describing his agency’s displeasure with the organization, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul met with Lakers owner Jeanie Buss and general manager Rob Pelinka on Tuesday, insisting that there’s no movement underway to seek management changes and that he believes there’s a shared accountability for the franchise’s disappointing season, sources told ESPN.

Paul — whose agency represents stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis — made it clear that James’ primary objective is remaining a Laker and the goal now ought to be to finish the season as strong as possible and then regroup in the offseason and work on ways to improve the team, sources said.

Though they have struggled this season, LeBron James has a talented squad that features Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook as his co-stars. Though bench production has been an issue at times this season, there’s no doubt that there are talented players on the Lakers’ roster.

Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Lakers be able to improve in the coming weeks and have a nice run to end the season. While they likely won’t be a championship contender by the end of the season, they could still potentially make the postseason and perhaps even win a series.
