Luka Doncic is already a superstar-caliber player at the age of 22, and he is currently the face of the Dallas Mavericks. Doncic is well-known around the league for his all-around game, with most people lauding his ability to both be a scorer and a playmaker at a high level. Currently, Luka Doncic is averaging 27.5 PPG, 9.2 RPG, and 9.0 APG on the season.
One of the people that Luka Doncic has often been compared to is LeBron James. Kendrick Perkins once notably claimed that Luka Doncic is “baby LeBron” but without “the athleticism”. While it is clear that Luka Doncic isn’t as accomplished as LeBron James yet, there are definitely similarities in their games.
Recently, LeBron James has come out and stated that the way Luka Doncic plays the game reminds him of the way that he approaches the game. LeBron James pointed out that both players have passing as the “number one thing” on their minds, and added that they can “put 40” on an opposing team if disrespected.

LeBron James clearly has some admiration for the way Luka Doncic plays the game, and his description of the similar qualities on their game is fairly accurate. It remains to be seen if Luka Doncic can ever reach the heights LeBron James did as a player, but he definitely has a really promising future.
The Dallas Mavericks are currently the 5th seed in the Western Conference under Luka Doncic’s leadership, and it’s impressive that he’s been leading them to victories even without a true co-star. Hopefully, we see the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic continue their success in the future.
