The Brooklyn Nets have been a mainstay in the media headlines for the last few weeks for various reasons. Although the biggest reason for it was the shocking James Harden trade to the Philadelphia 76ers, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving’s situation with each other has been a talking point as well.

Back when KD and Irving teamed up, it seemed like a dream situation for the Brooklyn Nets. The franchise has been waiting to win the first NBA Championship in its history. And it seemed like a possibility when KD and Kyrie joined the team.

Moreover, the Nets also added James Harden to the mix, which of course did the team more harm than good. Despite all the issues going on with the Nets, Durant played at an elite level and helped the team stay at the top of the Eastern Conference for a while.

But when Durant got injured, everything started to go downhill for the team. They were on a terrible losing streak as James Harden wasn’t playing like himself and Irving was only available as a part-time player.

With Harden now out of equations, fans are waiting to see how well Durant and Irving gel with each other. If they can make it work alongside Ben Simmons on the roster, the Nets will once again become one of the prime contenders to win the 2022 NBA Championship.

However, according to sports analyst Marcus Spears, Durant isn’t happy with the current Nets situation. In fact, Spears believes the only reason KD is suppressing his anger is due to his friendship with Kai.

“I feel like KD in between a rock and a hard place. … his friendship or whatever the relationship with Kyrie is stopping him from saying what he really mad about.“

As Spears explained, Durant and Irving have at least some sort of a friendship. And if Durant truly reveals all his emotions about the current situation, it might upset Irving too.

This could result in Durant being left alone with Ben Simmons and the rest of the role players on the roster. At the end of the day, Nets fans will hope the situation gets sorted before the postseason begins.
