Sibling rivalry is alive and well in the NBA, as Amen Thompson didn’t hold back in roasting his twin brother Ausar Thompson for failing to finish what he thought was a perfect lob during the 2025 NBA Rising Stars game. The Houston Rockets guard hilariously mocked his brother’s blunder, delivering a savage one-liner that took a not-so-subtle dig at Ausar’s team, the Detroit Pistons.

Ausar Thompson: “What lob did I miss? What are they talking about?”

Amen Thompson: “Bro, behind my head to you. Perfect pass.”

Ausar Thompson: “That was not a good pass.”

Amen Thompson: “It was a perfect pass. And we talked about this too… that’s why you can’t trust no Piston.”

Amen to Ausar after messing up their lob: "THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T TRUST NO PISTON!" 💀

How many arguments you think they've had like this over the years? 🤣

The incident took place during the game when Amen attempted an acrobatic behind-the-head lob pass to Ausar, expecting his twin to finish the play. Instead, Ausar failed to complete the dunk, leaving Amen shaking his head. After the game, when asked about the moment, Ausar appeared confused.

The savage remark instantly became a hit on social media, with fans laughing at Amen’s brutal—but good-natured—trash talk directed at his twin.

The Thompson twins shared the floor for the first time since entering the NBA, playing for Team M, coached by former All-NBA guard Mitch Richmond. While the chemistry between the brothers was evident, their on-court execution had some hiccups—most notably the failed lob attempt.

Team M fell short in the Rising Stars tournament, losing 40-39 to Team G-League, which went on to lose to Team C, the tournament champions. Amen led Team M with 11 points, proving to be one of the standout players of the event, while Ausar played 10 minutes and finished with four points and two assists.

Despite the lob mishap, both Amen and Ausar Thompson have enjoyed breakout seasons in their second year. Amen Thompson is averaging 13.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game for the Rockets. While Ausar Thompson is averaging 9.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game for the Pistons.

The Pistons and Rockets are both exceeding expectations this season, positioning themselves as potential playoff threats. Detroit, in particular, is the biggest surprise—sitting sixth in the East after finishing last in 2023-24.

While their teams continue to climb the standings, one thing remains certain—the Thompson brothers will always keep the competitive fire alive with their hilarious sibling banter.
