Russell Westbrook Was 5 Feet Away From The Basket And Giannis Antetokounmpo Didn’t Bother To Block The Shot

2 Min Read

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered yet another humiliating loss at the hands of the defending NBA champions, Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks were too much to bear for the Purple and Gold, who only found hope in the last quarter of the game after Russell Westbrook was benched

Brodie had another disappointing game for the 17-time NBA champions, only posting 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the Lakers’ 131-116 loss to the Bucks. While Westbrook had a terrible night, Giannis Antetokounmpo demolished the Lakers’ defense, recording 44 points, to go along with 14 rebounds and 8 assists.

These two starred in an interesting moment during the game, with Giannis showing how unbothered he was with Russ’ shooting skills. During the first quarter of the match, Westbrook grabbed one of his 10 rebounds and immediately tried to score.

This is completely normal. The odd part is that Antetokounmpo was in front of him and didn’t even try to contest the shot. It didn’t matter since Westbrook didn’t make it and Giannis still got the rebound.

Russ has been criticized for his shooting woes for a while now. Being part of the Los Angeles Lakers has only worsened the bad comments. The Purple and Gold paired Westbrook with LeBron James and Anthony Davis and the experiment hasn’t worked out. They need to find a solution or their season will keep getting worse.

They are rumored to be looking to make some moves ahead of the 2022 trade deadline but nothing is certain right now. Westbrook has been linked with a move to the Houston Rockets that would eventually place him back in Washington, re-joining the Wizards.

There are many rumors surrounding the Lakers right now, but nobody knows what they’re really going to do with the former NBA MVP. This is an interesting situation, but we won’t know how it’ll play out until tomorrow.
