Charles Barkley Is Mad At Kyrie Irving: “I’m Not Talking About This Dude Anymore. I Just Hope They Lose. Period.”

Kyrie Irving is a controversial figure in the NBA at this point, the Brooklyn Nets guard has recently returned to the court after missing the first 35 games of the season. Irving’s stance on Covid-19 vaccination has caused arguments across the basketball world, and the Nets’ decision to bring him back has led to even more controversy among basketball fans and media figures alike.

One media personality that has always been a detractor of Irving’s vaccination stance is Charles Barkley, and the discussion about Irving came up again on Monday night when the Nets took on the Cavaliers. Speaking on Inside the NBA on TNT, Barkley made it clear that he simply has no desire to talk about Irving anymore.

“I’m not talking about this dude anymore. I just hope they lose. Period.”

Kyrie Irving has recently doubled down on his stance to stay unvaccinated, which has resulted in him not being able to appear in home games for the Brooklyn Nets. Irving said his decision has already been made and that he doesn’t want to bring science to basketball, so he will be standing by it.

Things have gotten more complicated for the Brooklyn Nets, who have now lost Kevin Durant to injury for close to 6 weeks. James Harden is the only player out of their Big 3 that will be available to play for the Nets in every game, and the Beard has been nowhere close to what he can be when he’s at his best.

In any case, it seems like a lot of people are tired of focusing on the drama surrounding Kyrie and his opinions on Covid-19 and the vaccine. The Nets lost against Cleveland on Monday night despite Irving scoring 27 points and notching 9 assists to go with that. Kyrie is unlikely to be playing home games anytime soon and the Nets need to find a way to win games without that if they don’t want to fall to the 5th or 6th seed in the Eastern Conference.
