Isaiah Thomas On Playing With LeBron James Again: “I Can Help Him.”

Tonight, the Los Angeles Lakers lost badly to the Minnesota Timberwolves, who were without explosive shooting guard Anthony Edwards. While a lot of Lakers fans are now in panic mode, the night did come with some positives for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Isaiah Thomas, who has signed a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers put up 19 points off the bench in 21 minutes. There’s no doubt that this was a perfect season debut for the point guard. While it is unclear whether the Lakers will elect to keep him past his 10-day contract, it is possible they will choose to do so if he keeps putting up these types of performances.

After the game, Isaiah Thomas was asked about reuniting with LeBron James. The duo were notably teammates on the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2017-18 season. Isaiah Thomas stated his belief that he could “produce” and “help” LeBron James this year, as he is fully healthy. Thomas had some hip injuries in previous years.

Isaiah Thomas on the difference playing with LeBron again: "For me, I'm healthy. I'm able to provide for him. … I can help him."

“For me, I’m healthy. I’m able to provide for him. … I can help him.”

The last time that LeBron James and Isaiah Thomas were teammates in Cleveland, Thomas didn’t perform at his best. But it seems as though he believes in his offensive capabilities right now, and his confidence showed tonight. At times, Thomas looked like the best player on the floor for the Lakers.

Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Lakers give Isaiah Thomas more opportunities to show what he can do. There are certainly ways in which he could be useful for the team, and his shooting could be key to helping the spacing on the team.

The Lakers definitely need to switch some things up if they want to start winning. They have been inconsistent on both ends this year. While Isaiah Thomas isn’t necessarily the answer to all of their problems, he could be part of the solution.
