Austin Rivers Calls Out NBA For Not Giving Nikola Jokic And Denver Nuggets A Christmas Game: “The MVP Doesn’t Get A Christmas Game. Yup, That Makes A Lot Of Sense.”

Christmas day for the NBA is a time where the NBA generally showcases its most appealing matchups. Usually, it is the most exciting and competitive teams playing against one another, and there’s no doubt that Christmas Day is generally viewed as one of the biggest days for the NBA.

The NBA has released its recent schedule, and there was a team that was glaringly omitted from the Christmas Day games: the Denver Nuggets. The Denver Nuggets were a No. 3 seed in the Western Conference last season due to the efforts of Nikola Jokic, and he even won the MVP award last season. While the Nuggets will be without Jamal Murray for a large part of next season, but they should still be a solid team. Regardless, it certainly seems strange for the NBA to not give the reigning MVP a Christmas game.

Austin Rivers has called out the NBA for not giving Nikola Jokic a Christmas game and sarcastically stated “that makes a lot of sense” under an Instagram post that was the NBA’s announcement for the schedule.

There is no doubt that while Nikola Jokic may not have the most flashy style of play, he is effective and he gets the job done when it comes to carrying the offensive load for his team. Nikola Jokic is one of the best superstars in the league, and it is extremely unfortunate that we will not be witnessing his abilities on Christmas Day.

Hopefully, Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets are able to play well and show the league why they deserved a Christmas game. There’s always hope for the 2022-23 season though, and Jokic’s talent suggests that eventually, we’ll see him face off against teams on Christmas.
