NBA 2K22 dropped last Friday and fans have been discussing about the game ever since. While it has certainly been a good update according to many, the ratings of players have always been a huge point of discussion and similar has been the case for NBA 2K22.

This time, it’s Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons who comes under the radar. Simmons has been in the never for most of the NBA offseason because of his decision to forfeit the training camp and wanting a move out of Philly.

Well, the teams have been quite skeptical in trading for Simmons, and no one can blame them. Ever since joining the league, not being able to shoot consistently has been one of the biggest flaws in his game.

Now, even NBA 2K22 disrespected Ben in that department. Damichael Cole of the Philadelphia Inquirer pointed out that Simmons now has a lower three-point shooting rating than a few non-shooting centers. Players like DeAndre Ayton, Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, and Boban Marjanovic all have better 3-point ratings than Simmons as per NBA 2K22.

Cole further pointed out that Simmons’ rating of 84 in this year’s game is his lowest since his rookie season. On one hand, the 76ers are trying to get a blockbuster trade for Simmons, but he still seems like they are asking way too much for him.

Ben was heavily criticized after his performance in the 2021 NBA playoffs. He not only struggled to shoot but seemed to lack confidence in himself too.

In fact, Kendrick Perkins even pointed out that Simmons lacks mental toughness as compared to his teammate Joel Embiid.

Combining his poor performance with off-court shenanigans, Ben’s trade value is at an all-time low.

With the 2021-22 NBA season right around the corner, the 76ers need to trade him as soon as possible. Because the more they delay the inevitable, it’s more likely that the other teams will start rescinding their offers to acquire him.

What are your thoughts on the future of Ben Simmons? Which team should trade for him in the offseason or has his value tanked too much right now to be traded?
