Suns big man Bol Bol sparked some conversation on Saturday after fouling Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama. In obvious protest of the call, Bol called out the refs for “d*ck riding” Victor and showing him favoritism on the court during games.
“D*ckriding bro, I get it,” said Bol.

Somehow, Bol was able to get away with the taunt without any penalties. Better yet, his team won the game in blowout fashion, putting them 12 games above .500 and a step closer to securing a top-six seed in the West.
All-in-all, Phoenix had their way with the Spurs tonight and Bol Bol couldn’t help but start getting fresh with his team up big in the second quarter. For the Suns’ sake, a long playoff appearance better be in the future or all of this talking could come back to haunt them in a major way.
As for Victor, he normally makes a statement in games like this and he’s been solid all season long. In this game, however, he was pretty mediocre with 13 points and 5 rebounds in 21 minutes of play. The Spurs lost by over 25 points at home, and Wemby could do nothing but endure it as he tried in vain to stop the bleeding.
For the season, San Antonio has been truly awful and they sit dead last in the West at just 15-55. It is obviously not the start Spurs fans had in mind and Victor has struggled to accept his reality but the future couldn’t be brighter for the kid.
Besides being a potential superstar in the making, Victor is a future face of the NBA itself who could leave an impact on a similar level to the very best in the game. And while it’s uncertain how far the league would go to protect their star, it’s no secret that they view him as a leading face for the next generation of athletes.
Victor Wembanyama Is The NBA’s Biggest Attraction
Victor Wmebanyama was on the NBA’s radar for years before being drafted last summer. As a child basketball prodigy from France, he trained with some of the world’s leading experts before refining his skills with the Metropolitans 92.
And while it hasn’t yet been a full season for Wemby, he’s showing great promise as someone who can fill the role as a generational icon for the NBA. Statistically, he’s proving he belongs with the best and is currently averaging 20.9 points, 10.5 rebounds, and a league-high 3.5 blocks per game.
Victor has more than just basketball talent. He’s also got the mindset of a true competitor, which sets him apart from many of the younger stars we see today. And while players like Bol Bol and others may like to blame the referees for coddling Victor, he doesn’t ask for any handouts and demands the best from himself.
This season, he’s already showing signs that he’s ready for greatness and he would have been an All-Star had the Spurs not been 15th in the standings. Regardless of what kind of calls he gets from the officials, Victor’s status as an NBA elite is undeniable and his story is only just getting started.
