The Oklahoma City Thunder are one of the most underrated organizations in the NBA. With Sam Presti at the helm, the franchise built one of the most amazing teams of the 2010s around Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, although they fell short of winning it all. Since then, they have managed to position themselves incredibly for the future, the Thunder are very much an example of a well-run team.

With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the centerpiece, widely expected to be an All-Star this season, the Thunder are set to be a problem in the West for years to come. Having the likes of Josh Giddey, Lu Dort, and Chet Holmgren when he can play on the roster as well means it’s exciting to be a Thunder fan. But it’s not just the young guys that love OKC, all the veterans they have handled during the seasons they were tanking have nothing but great things to say about them.

Chris Paul Became The Latest Veteran After Al Horford And Kemba Walker To Say Great Things About The Thunder

Nobody would describe Chris Paul, Kemba Walker, or Al Horford as Oklahoma City Thunder legends. When they moved to the franchise, they were seen around the league as bad contracts. The amazing thing is though, that being in OKC allowed Paul and Horford to rehabilitate their faltering careers, while they treated Kemba with the utmost dignity as well. Everything those players have said since leaving the franchise is nothing but a ringing endorsement for the organization.

Al Horford: "When I went to OKC, they put me in a place to succeed. They were great to me."

Kemba Walker on OKC: “They were unbelievable in the time that I was with them, like literally unbelievable. They took such great care of me.”

Al Horford: “When I went to OKC, they put me in a place to succeed. They were great to me.”

Kemba Walker on OKC: “They were unbelievable in the time that I was with them, like literally unbelievable. They took such great care of me.”

Chris Paul’s shoes in his return to OKC: “Thank you, OKC!”

The culture of a franchise goes a long way in determining how it will perform over a long period. And the Oklahoma City Thunder have built something truly special. The team is young right now, but winning an NBA championship requires a blend of youth and experience. And when the time comes for OKC to recruit some vets to take the next step, the way they have treated all these players will become a massive point in their favor.
