Colin Cowherd & Doug Gottlieb: Michael Jordan’s Documentary Will Remind Young Fans Who’s GOAT

Throughout the course of history, people have debated whether the old era of basketball was better than modern-day and naturally, that comes along with the never-ending debate about who’s the greatest player of all time.

However, there has been a bit of a consensus about Michael Jordan being way ahead of the rest of the candidates, with players of the likes of Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James also being constantly mentioned.

Still, it seems like younger fans have forgotten – or simply never knew – just how great His Royal Airness was, so naturally, they’re leaning towards some younger players as the greatest of all time.

Some fans diss Michael Jordan’s competition, claiming they weren’t as good, as athletic, or as talented as some of the hoopers we’re seeing nowadays. Some have even gone as far as to call them “plumbers”.

That’s why Collin Cowherd and Doug Gottlieb are ecstatic about Michael Jordan’s documentary’s early release, as they consider this footage will finally put an end to the discussion and remind young fans who’s the greatest player in NBA history:

“LeBron’s going to be sitting home here in his 17th year and guess what’s starting in about a week: Michael Jordan’s 10-part documentary. 20-years old never saw Michael play live. Neither did 30-years old. I did, and that’s why I say Michael’s the best player ever. But a lot of 20-years old have lived in the tunnel of ‘LeBron only’ and they’re LeBron fans (…) in terms of branding, the 20-year olds are going to watch this 10-part series and those are LeBron guys.

And guess what? every talk show is all going to be like ‘Hey, I forgot he’s the greatest ever’ and LeBron will be sitting home and watching that as a hyper-competitive athlete. It’s one thing to have the MJ documentary on and you’re playing and dropping 32 a night, and it’s another to be watching it and then you turn the sports network and they’re like ‘Hey, that debate is stupid, MJ is clearly so much better” (…) he said and I quote ‘My motivation is the ghost I’m chasing, the ghost played in Chicago’. Well, guess what: The ghost is coming back in a 10-part series”, Cowherd claimed.

Obviously, being second or third to Michael Jordan is perhaps the greatest honor any player could strive for on his career, LeBron James included.

And don’t get me wrong, this is by no means disrespect to the King, who I personally believe is the most complete player ever. But hey, this was, is, and will always be Jordan’s league.
