Draymond Green Goes On Angry Rant About An NBA Double-Standard: “Everyone Wants To Say, ‘That Young Man Can’t Figure It Out.’ But No One Wants To Say The Organization Can’t Figure It Out.”

Amid myriads of trade rumors, Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green took to the media on Monday night to point out a major double-standard he sees in today’s NBA: players who request a trade vs. teams who sit a player in order to trade them.

Here’s a clip of the postgame rant, which spans over two minutes:

Love him or hate him, Draymond is speaking some truth here. It is often viewed negatively (and unprofessional) if players try to force their way out of a team or even publicly request a trade. Like James Harden with the Rockets, stars who bail on their clubs get labeled as disloyal.

For teams, it’s often we see players get included in trade rumors with little consequence to their reputation — like when the Raptors traded DeMar DeRozan, for example.

When it comes to trades and “breakups” the player is usually the first one blamed as the one who couldn’t make things work.

Indeed, it’s an interesting reality — and one Draymond seems tired of witnessing.
