Draymond Green Says P.J. Tucker May Be The “Best Corner Three-Point Shooter” In NBA History

2 Min Read

One look at a Houston Rockets game and the importance of 6-5 forward P.J. Tucker becomes abundantly clear.

While the guy is just a role-player, he is an essential part of Houston’s small-ball game plan. Not only can Tuck guard any position, but he can also be a pretty reliable scorer, especially from beyond the arc.

In fact, according to Warriors star Draymond Green, P.J. Tucker may be among the greatest of All-Time when it comes to hitting that long-distance corner shot.

Green’s statement may very well be hyperbole, but it does ring with some truth. Tucker is excellent in the corner, and he hovers at around 40% from that spot for his career. He also literally led the league in corner makes for both the 2017-18 season and the 2018-19 season.

Statistically, P.J. is one of the leading specialists in that category — and one has to wonder how much Houston’s personnel and play style play a part.

But, regardless, Tuck is doing what his team needs him to do and that’s all anyone can really ask for.

As H-Town tries to beat the Lakers in this second-round matchup, Tucker will need to be going strong if his team is to have a chance. So far, he’s held up his end of things.
