Dwight Howard is trying to lure many players to Taiwan this offseason, including Chris Paul and Kevin Durant. The future Hall of Famer has a favorite target, though, as he’s been very active in recruiting former teammate LeBron James.

Right before the Lakers were swept by the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 Western Conference Finals, Howard started recruiting James. After the series was over, he continued his quest and now has raised the bar, adding a name of interest for LeBron to this operation.

“LeBron gotta be in there… Yeah, I mean, he [Bronny James] can come too. Come on,” Howard said.

LeBron James has made it very clear he wants to share touches with Bronny James in the NBA, and now Howard has given them both an alternative. Perhaps they can skip the draft and go straight to Taiwan to play together.

Howard created two solid hypothetical All-Taiwan starting fives, first picking players who are still playing and dominating the NBA, going with James, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

When asked about a team with players closer to retirement than their prime, he went with Chris Paul, LeBron again, Carmelo Anthony and Udonis Haslem. This would be a tough team that can score at will but also put up a good fight on defense.

Dwight Howard Wants More Legends To Join Him In Taiwan

Howard has been very active in trying to get NBA stars to join him in the T1 League. He’s been following the 2023 NBA playoffs very closely, and as soon as a star was eliminated, he took to social media to try to recruit them.

That’s how James Harden, Klay Thompson, and even the controversial Ja Morant were all invited to Taiwan. Howard has become a pretty good deal over there, posting big numbers during his first games, even participating in the All-Star Game and the 3-point contest.

In 20 games, Howard averaged 23.2 points, 16.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game in 34.9 minutes of action.

Things haven’t gone that well for him lately, as the Taoyuan Leopards asked him to reduce his contract by 65%. This isn’t the best way to try to lure these stars away from the NBA, but it’s good to see that Dwight remains in good spirits despite this disrespectful move.

He’s made it clear he hasn’t given up on his NBA dream and wants to help the Sacramento Kings contend for a championship soon.
