Things are not going great for the Golden State Warriors on the court as they find themselves down 3-1 in the Conference Semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

It would appear there might potentially be something wrong in their camp itself, as it looked like Gary Payton II vomited while on the court in Game 4, but he managed to hold it in his mouth.

Payton tried his best to continue on but it eventually forced him to leave the court during the game, which led to the Warriors going 4-on-5 on offense in the next play. It led to a turnover, as Draymond Green, who was unaware that Payton had left the court, passed the ball to where his teammate was supposed to be on the play.

Kevon Looney was struck by illness before Game 2 of this series, so you wonder if something is wrong behind the scenes in their building. The incident didn’t affect Payton’s play on the court though, as he was the third-leading scorer for Golden State with 15 points while also putting up 3 rebounds and 2 assists.

Gary Payton II Being Your Third-Leading Scorer Is Far From Ideal

While the Warriors would have loved to see Payton score that many points, the fact that he was their third-leading scorer is a cause for concern. He is not on the team for his offense and if he outscores the likes of Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole, as he did in this game, that spells trouble for Golden State.

Klay only had 9 points in the game on 3-11 shooting while Poole had 0 points as he went 0-4 from the field. Unless these two get it going the rest of the way, it doesn’t matter what Stephen Curry or Payton do, as the Warriors will lose. Perhaps getting back home would help Thompson, as he averaged 27.5 PPG in Games 1 and 2, but it doesn’t seem like they’ll get much out of Poole. He was terrible in the first round against the Sacramento Kings and hasn’t had much success here either, with the exception of Game 1.
