Following a five-year run at the top of the NBA, the Golden State Warriors still have years left of winning ahead of them. But as Draymond Green, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson continue to increase in age, the Dubs grow more and more desperate to take advantage of their closing Championship window.
Which is why, according to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle, they are going to do whatever it takes to improve their roster — regardless of financial constraints.
“According to a league source, Golden State is unlikely to let a drop in the cap change how it approaches roster-building. Lacob realizes that with Steph, Klay, and Draymond all in their early 30s, the Warriors might only have a three- or four-year window to win another title.”
It seems the Warriors are going all-in on their core of Curry, Klay, and Draymond. And why shouldn’t they? Despite the Warriors’ downfall this past season, the combination of those three players have proven successful in the past — and they’ve still got at least. a few more dominant years left.
Needless to say, it will cost a lot of money to build the roster this team has in mind — but they seem more than willing to pay up.
With Andrew Wiggins and a top lottery pick to work with, they’ve got a lot of options and who’s to say they won’t be better than they’ve ever been? The possibilities are truly endless.
