Isiah Thomas Says LeBron James Is The GOAT: “We Have Never Seen A Player Like This In The NBA.”

Obviously, the history between Pistons legend Isiah Thomas and his old-school Chicago rival, Michael Jordan, is no mystery to NBA fans. The battles they faced on the court were only followed by more back-and-forth after their retirement. Today, it’s clear the two still have some bitter feelings towards one another, and nobody is really arguing otherwise.

So when he acknowledged LeBron James as the GOAT in a chat with FOX Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe, it didn’t come as much of a surprise.

(via Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast)

“We have never seen a player like this in the NBA. He (LeBron) breaks a record every single night just to remind you you’ve never seen anything like this before. When it’s all said and done, it’s going to be hard for people to look back and say ‘He (LeBron) wasn’t the best.’”

The GOAT debate is a heavily debated topic in NBA circles. While Jordan comfortably held that title for years, LeBron James’ career has put that status into question.

The Lakers superstar has scored more points, made more Finals appearances, and is widely regarded as a better playmaker than MJ. Still, he falls behind in Championships, defensive accolades, and the “killer mentality” people look for in every star.

After winning his fourth title, James brought many over to his side, including Thomas, who claims he has seen more than enough to call him the greatest.

We’ll see if he ends up being right in the end.
